Red Hood is a DC Comics character most famously associated with Jason Todd, the second Robin. He first appeared as the Red Hood in Batman #635 (2005), written by Judd Winick.
Jason Todd was initially introduced as Robin after Dick Grayson became Nightwing. He was eventually killed by the Joker in the storyline "A Death in the Family".
Years later, Jason was resurrected and, fueled by anger and resentment towards Batman for not avenging his death, took on the mantle of the Red Hood. He operates as a vigilante, employing more lethal methods than Batman. His backstory, death, and subsequent return have made him a complex and popular character in the Batman mythos.
